Announcing Winners 2014 -"LEED Dream Home using ArchiCAD" and "Design Something using SOLIDWORKS" National Contests
The CAD Academy's national "LEED Dream Home Contest for Students using ArchiCAD" has ended on March 15th 2014 along with our first annual, National "DESIGN SOMETHING. MAKE A DIFFERENCE Contest for Students using SOLIDWORKS" .
WE HAVE WINNERS!!!!!We had an amazing turnout this year and so many great projects making it difficult for the judges. Congratulation to all who participated. Our FIRST PLACE WINNER is from MARINER HIGH SCHOOL, KRISTIN HAWKINS, Instructor (this is 2nd year in a row for this instructor and school). The 1ST PLACE WINNER is GABRIEL BARRUETA. Our 2ND PLACE WINNER is from HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL, STEVE SPYKSTRA, Instructor. Our 3rd PLACE WINNER is from FOUNTAIN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL, STAN CONNICK AIA, Instructor. Winners won laptops to help with their continuing education.
We have also just completed our first annual, "DESIGN SOMETHING. MAKE A DIFFERENCE", using SOLIDWORKS. This was a very difficult project. Student's had to come up with an invention that would help others and then produce it using SOLIDWORKS. Two students partnered together and are our FIRST PLACE WINNERS. They come from IMPACT DESIGN, Jennifer Garman, Instructor. Our winners are KAYLA DAVID and SHAE ROWLINSON, who created a fully functional, artificial hand, for those who have lost theirs. Our 2nd place winner is from MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL, JENNIFER BJORNSTAD, instructor. STERLING ORLANDER created a charging device for electric cars. Our 3RD PLACE WINNER is EMMA JUVENAL, is from MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL, JENNIFER BJORNSTAD, instructor. Emma created a water saving hose adapter. They each won laptops to help with their continuning education. We appreciate all of the schools that participated.
Announcing The CAD Academy Release v.7
THE CAD ACADEMY v.7 (TCA v.7) IS SHIPPING!! It contains updated software. We are currently updating the content on the Instructor Portal to match this release and also to comply with new standards. Please check out our first completed module on the Architectural side for ARCHICAD 17.
